THE AMELIA ERNST LEGACY FUND

Amelia’s sharp intellect and bright smile left a lasting impact on countless lives in Lodi. In addition, her financial generosity will continue to influence this community by way of the legacy fund created in her name.

The Amelia Ernst Fund directly benefits the Adventist Health Lodi Memorial Hospital’s Adult Day Care Program that is located at Hutchins Street Square. This program is for older and disabled adults who cannot fully care for themselves. This program benefits those in the program that receive friendly, stimulating care and support through daily activities and group programs – but also supports the caregiving families.

Mrs. Amelia Ernst was a beloved teacher whose warmth, intelligence, and dedication left a lasting impression on everyone she met. A bright and accomplished woman, she earned two bachelor’s degrees before furthering her education with a master’s in psychology. Her curiosity and compassion drove her to a career in teaching, where she inspired countless students with her enthusiasm and love for learning.

Mrs. Ernst’s kindness extended far beyond her professional accomplishments. She was known for her ability to connect with people of all ages, always offering a listening ear, wise guidance, and heartfelt encouragement. Her colleagues, students, and friends admired her for her unwavering commitment to making the world a better place, one person at a time.

In addition being a giver of her time and talent, Mrs. Ernst was a generous philanthropist, dedicating her efforts to supporting adult day care programs that provide respite for caregivers of loved ones. Her deep commitment to this cause touched many lives and will continue to do so through a legacy fund established in her honor at the Lodi Community Foundation.
