Russ Hayward, Board Member

Russ Hayward is a non-profit management consultant with over with over40 years experience in a variety of program management and executive roles with non-profit organizations.

 

He has worked for the Berkeley YMCA as Vice President for Program Services for 12 years, and then Russ managed a non-profit career development program at the University of the Pacific and Cal State East Bay where he taught courses in non-profit management. He then began a seventeen year career with United Way, starting as the campaign director for the United Way of San Joaquin County. Russ then served as Executive Director of the Napa and Solano United Way for seven years, followed by five years as Senior Vice President at United Way of the Bay Area in San Francisco. Russ returned to the Stockton area as the Executive Director of the YMCA of San Joaquin County for seven years.

 

Russ graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of California, Berkeley where he says he didn’t let the classroom get in the way of his education. He also earned a masters degree in history and urban studies at Cal State East Bay.

 

Russ and his wife Cathy have lived in Lodi for 29 years and have two grown children, Nora and Matt, and four grandchildren, Heather, Jacob, McLaren and Madison.
